Angela Chou
Angela is a junior pursuing a BA in Economics and a BS in Architectural Design. She was born and raised in Taiwan but has spent parts of her life living in New Zealand, Oregon and Paris. She is interested in product placement, product development and social media marketing. Her personal interests include singing, playing cello, fencing, learning languages and wine-tasting. |
Priyanka Durgadoss Priyanka is a Master’s student in Management Science and Engineering specializing in strategy and operations. Prior to this, she was a Management Consultant in the Middle East and has worked on business planning and feasibility studies for start-up companies. In the past, she has interned with the marketing and branding team at Proctor & Gamble and she is most interested in understanding the power of branding and ‘glocal’ marketing. She is currently co-authoring a fiction and has actively been involved in book launches and marketing of new books through social media. Her other extracurricular interests include travelling, hiking & cooking. |
Shahab Fadavi
Shahab Fadavi is a sophomore double majoring in Economics and Computer Science. In addition to Stanford Marketing Group, Shahab is an Investment Banking Analyst at Stanford Finance, a Teaching Assistant in the Management Science & Engineering department, and a member of the Undergraduate Senate and Faculty Senate. This past summer, Shahab led a marketing campaign at a consumer tech firm in Dubai. In his spare time, Shahab enjoys SCUBA diving, watching the F1 Grand Prix, and learning new languages. |
Matthew Fernandez
Matt is a freshman, planning to major in Computer Science or Management Science and Engineering. He spent the past summer working for his startup, Simple Emotion, on marketing and improving technology for the disability community. By approaching marketing with an analytic mind and strong product design sense, Matt hopes to Stanford Marketing Group will help build skills in marketing, product design, and communication. |
Elijah Frazier
Elijah is a co-terminal MA student studying Communication and Media Studies (MA) and Science, Technology, and Society (BA), with a focus in Work, Technology, and Social Organizations. He is interested in the intersection of marketing and entertainment, particularly the development of compelling branded entertainment initiatives that provide value for companies and their consumers. Aside from SMG, Elijah works as a Diversity Outreach Associate in the Office of Undergraduate Admission and as the Chief Marketing Officer at Stanford Student Enterprises. Last summer, he worked in Business Development and Strategy at BET Networks in New York City. Elijah loves travel, cooking, music, and fashion. |
Karen Islas
Karen is a sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Science, Technology, and Society with a concentration in Innovation, Technology, and Organizations and a minor in Communication. Last summer, Karen interned at Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire where she worked on the chapter’s Cornerstone Society, Walk for Wish, and 30 Years of Wishes marketing campaigns. She is interested in brand marketing and aesthetic strategies used in advertising. In her free time, she enjoys graphic design, photography, traveling, shopping, and trying new food. |
Shawn Lee
Shawn is an freshman currently flirting with the idea of environmental engineering, but utilizing his undecided status to shop about different academic disciplines. After founding and running a tutoring business for two years, he has always been looking for more time and resources to improve his marketing skills, and finds group works interesting on both a practical and an intellectual level. Outside of Stanford Marketing Group, Shawn works at the Stanford Community Farm, is an avid ceramicist and runner,and an Officer with the Local Initiatives Group of Engineers for a Sustainable World. |
Akiharu Maki
Aki is currently pursuing a B.A. in Economics and hoping to coterm with an M.S. in Management Science & Engineering. Following marketing stints at both Canon USA in New York and Asatsu-DK in Tokyo, he has joined SMG not only to further his interest in marketing, but also to be exposed to client-consulting relationships during the school year. Aside from SMG, Akiharu is actively involved in Blyth Fund, BASES, ASES, and The Technology in Society Initiative. His interests include learning foreign languages, sailing, fashion, technology and finance. |
Chad Mitchell
Chad is an international student from Trinidad and Tobago. He's currently studying Management Science and Engineering with a focus in Finance. Last summer he interned as an analyst at the investment services division of ANSA Merchant Bank. He's most interested in the different types of business/client relationships and more specifically, the ways that they are initiated, developed and maintained. |
Misha Talavera
Misha is a freshman thinking about majoring in Management Science & Engineering. He is of Russian-Mexican descent and lives in Paris. His mixed heritage makes him deeply critical of the superficial categorizations that are in the process of being peeled back to move us closer towards a global society. As the world globalizes, ideas and products become more abundant, and marketing - the skill of communicating the value of an idea or product in the most appealing manner - becomes ever more important. |
Sophia Vo
Sophia is a junior double-majoring in Communication and Film; her background includes writing for print and broadcast journalism. Since coming to Stanford, she has marketed a Y-Combinator startup, an NPR show and an independent record label. Her favorite work experience was at the advertising agency R/GA, where she managed teams for Microsoft. In keeping with her Seattle roots, she spends her free time reading in coffee shops, painting nature and DJing indie rock. |
Natasha Weaser
Natasha is a sophomore majoring in International Relations and minoring in Management Science and Engineering. She is half American, half Singaporean but spent the last 8 years before Stanford in Shanghai, China. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Bahasa Indonesian and has dabbled in Arabic. On campus, she is a desk editor for the Stanford Daily, a Stanford Nonprofits board fellow, a member of FACES and a part of the sorority Alpha Phi. There is nothing she loves more than traveling, having been to all seven continents (yes, including Antarctica). When she's not being a wanderlust, she loves fashion, photography and being a foodie. After graduating, she wants to pursue a career in global business, most probably in Asia. |
Shannon Wu
Shannon is a sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. She is particularly interested in the intersection of business, technology, and health. Shannon currently sits on the Administrative Panel on Human Subjects in Medical Research as well as the Stanford Information Technology Services Advisory Group. Shannon joined Stanford Marketing Group to further explore her interests in business strategy and product development. In her free time, Shannon loves going to concerts, art museums, and new countries. |
